artist's statement
Multidisciplinary artwork for digital environments, gallery walls, or printed book. Drawing, painting, print, digital techniques in service of storytelling. I am a graphic novelist, printmaker, bookmaker, fine artist. I believe in the intersection and synergy of these media.I am trying to figure out how to live in the new world that is emerging, sometimes described as "postmodern" or even "hypermodern". My practice is a pursuit of meaning and fullness in a world that capitalizes on cynicism, scarcity, and personal insecurity. I believe that the act of creation connects us to the numinous and nourishes us in a way that is more powerful and more enduring than the capitalistic anxieties that can oppress us. Whatever I do, I want to tap this wellspring and share what I draw up.
